I just recently watched the Kings Speech, and was looking forward to watching a movie made in the new era. I have to say it was nice to watch a movie with color finally, and I was told this movie was pretty good. However I have to say it wasn't at all what I thought the movie was going to be. I was particularly not impressed with this movie simply because I thought the movie was rather slow and I wasn't big on the plot. As I was told earlier, evaluating a movie is more than just simply liking it or disliking it and I have now realized that.
Looking through chapter three, I thought this movie was simple, in the way that all he was to over come was his speech, but it was also very complex because of the way his father died and his brother gave him the throne by default, and the way he was forced into the king position. This movie is also credible because of the fact that its a true story. The developing character in this movie is obviously the King, King George VI, because of the way he overcomes his public speaking, or speaking in general, and the other potential developing character would be Lionel, the way he has to adjust to find a way into the life of King George VI. My opinion of the film and my overall vision of the film was not great. The main reason I wasn't big on this movie was because there was nothing that really happened, no suspense or action, and it wasn't funny either. I was told going into the movie that it was supposed to be a good movie, and maybe the simple fact that I had to high of expectations for this film and it simply didn't live up to them.
